In feb 2008 I bought a Cat interface for my FT1000D , I’ve found out that I needed firmware version V6 for the control with modern technic software. At work I burned a few new Eeprom’s with the latest V6 firmware from Yaesu. Here you will see how to replace the old one with the new firmware.. After it is installed put the power cord back in for the latest test. Push the 1,.5 and 7 Mhz band switch en power up. The Yaesu will reset en shows the firmware version you have installed. If you need more info just send me an email msg.
Here the changes I’ve made. The FT1000D I upgraded the standard Yaesu Filter for total Inrad Filters. You see before and after. Two of the filters I had to solder out from the board . I needed a very warm heatpipe to do the job. It was hard to do, but we managed it. Just be careful with the old print board, don’t damage anything of the print with the warm heatpipe. It’s been done easy and your Yaesu won’t work anymore. After all these years Yaesu have been making great radio’s.
